Surana-Tabris FamilyThe Surana-Tabris family consists of the Tabris family: Cyrion and Adaia and their daughter Sang, and the Surana family: Tassin (Adaia's sister) and Aris and their children Eloy and Dea.As a young woman, Adaia fought in the Fereldan Rebellion as one of the Night Elves under Loghain Mac Tir. Her younger sister Tassin was left at home in Amaranthine, failing to see what difference there was between Orlesian or Ferelden shem looking down on them. She would eventually follow Adaia and her new husband to the Denerim alienage, but the rift between her and her sister never fully healed.Adaia still held onto some patriotic fervor when Sang was born in 9:05, and passed on her martial skills to her child as well as romantic stories of wartime heroes. Tassin refused to have her own children exposed to this when Eloy was born in 9:08, and the purge of the alienage in 9:10 would extinguish the last embers of Adaia's idealism and leave her with a smoldering resentment.When Eloy first displayed magic at age 6, Tassin immediately turned to her sister for guidance. For a year, they managed to supervise him carefully and conceal his talents, but it wasn't to last - in 9:15, Eloy was taken from the Surana family and dragged to Kinloch Hold. A year later, the shaken Surana family vanished from the alienage. After a brief time seeking shelter with a Dalish clan, they eventually found themselves settled in Kirkwall's alienage. Aris was never quite satisfied with life there, and left to seek out the Dalish once again when Dea was 13.Dea's chance encounter with a runaway Valerie Trevelyan in 9:28 led to a surprisingly strong bond between the two. In 9:32, having cut ties with her family, Valerie returned to Kirkwall with the funds to help the Suranas leave Kirkwall and reunite with their family in Ferelden - potentially including Eloy, who the Suranas had truly believed they would never see again.
